A Trip Hazard Book Cover

Over twenty-five years, the married dad-of-four has travelled to the most dangerous places on the planet, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Chechnya, Ukraine, North Korea and the lawless tribal territories of Pakistan. His perilous journeys have seen Andrew transform from a thrill-seeking voyeur into a top journalist producing BAFTA-nominated news stories.

In his debut book, Andrew invites the reader to join him on TEN of his heart-pounding and harrowing trips. Follow him as he visits the streets of Mogadishu as the first tourist to visit the Black Hawk crash sites in Somalia, stand shoulder-to-shoulder on the frontline with ordinary Iraqis fighting ISIS, and discover why the KKK don't like polar bears.

Just like Andrew, you will be changed by the moving human stories he encounters on his travels - like hearing from those who lost loved ones in the Beslan school massacre in North Ossetia, or finding out what it is like to show a North Korean secret service agent her first Beyoncé video.

About the Author

Trip Hazard is the first book from journalist, filmmaker and extreme traveller Andrew Dury.

Andrew grew up in a working class family in a suburb of Aldershot, a military town just outside London, England.

When he was 10 years old he tragically lost his younger brother Robert to leukaemia.

Growing up after losing a sibling and working hard for a living Andrew quickly decided he wanted to make a success of his life and achieve all he could.

He has never been to university and left school when he was 16, but has gone on to run a very successful business that funded his first trips to extreme locations.

Today Andrew has evolved from being an extreme location traveller to an accredited BAFTA-nominated journalist and filmmaker.

He lives with his wife Rachel, children Bobby and Ruby, and their dog Bear, in Surrey, England.

A film featuring Andrew's life, called Danger Zone, is out in 2023.
